A farm, but not just a farm…

Farming is not all that goes on at Tablehurst.  We train young farmers and gardeners, welcome volunteers, encourage school visits, and run a small care home for adults with learning disabilities. We also hold regular community events at Tablehurst. These include farm walks, lambing days every spring and a barn dance every September. Therer are also regular workshops  on various aspects of food and farming. Overall, the farm provides employment for over 30 people in the local area.

A house made of straw

Peter Brown, our founding farmer, supported by an amazing team of volunteers, is currently building a straw bale house at Tablehurst which will provide him with a home in his retirement. In the longer term, the house will add to the farm’s supply of homes for farm and garden workers. You can read a lot more about the house and how it is being constructed here.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Tablehurst Farm!
