Come to Tablehurst on Open Farm Sunday. We will have a guided farm walk at 11.00, but you are welcome to come to the cafe for bacon rolls, coffee and cake from 9.30.
On the farm walk, we will visit the pigs, and tell you a little about how we care for these remarkable animals and what we are doing to grow more of their feed here at Tablehurst. Then on to the vegetable garden where, over the course of the season, we grow over 90 varieties of vegetables. June is a busy time in the garden, with many crops ready to harvest, and countless more growing fast, so there will be plenty to see. After that, we hope to show you our special approach to managing our beef cattle, known as “mob-grazing” which is good for the animals and very good for the soil, but we cannot guarantee this as it is weather-dependent.
The tour will end at lunchtime, when you will have the chance to enjoy our barbecue in the farm garden and hot drinks and cake in our cafe. The farm shop will also be open so you will have the chance to take some of our produce home with you. After lunch, you will be free to explore the farm further if you wish. Entry to the event is free of charge.
